This past weekend marked the fifth MDL tournament of the season, bringing together students from five schools to compete at Nicolet High School.
Host Nicolet High School came out on top in the Varsity Division, with students Seth Johnson and Greg Mayzus taking home first place team honors. Rufus King debater Keenan Gibson took home first place speaking honors.
In the JV Division, Vincent High School took home first place, with debaters Jonquis Eason and Angelique Smith going 3-0. Professional Learning Institute debater Cedric Lewis, a freshman, took home top place speaking honors.
Maceon Downer of Bradley Tech was awarded with the year’s second Character Award for his dedication to the Bradley Tech program, his willingness to help others, and his leadership on this team. Nicolet coach Nasif Rogers won the year’s second Outstanding Adjudicator Award.
